Lighting things up: Lamp Updates

Over the past few months, I have been working on getting some new lamps around the house.  Since we moved back into the house last fall, I have realized that our lamp situation was a bit dire.  I had become a bit complacent about some of my old lamps which were dated and mostly hand-me-downs.

So, I set out to make some new lamp purchases.  Some of my purchases have been successful and others have not - and therefore have become returns!   One of my recent REfind purchases was this sweet milk glass looking lamp.  It was less than $25 and I knew it was a versatile piece which just needed a great shade.  Then I found a beautiful shade with a blue-gray coral pattern at Pottery Barn on the summer clearance pile.  I love the result which matches the pale blue accent color that I have used in the room.

I decided to use it on my dresser because the old lamp was not doing anything for the room.  Here's the before -

I like it so much  more.  Unfortunately now this leads me to think about a new mirror and about the other things that live on my dresser.  It's a vicious cycle!
