So what's the hold up? Paint of all things!! Totally not our contractor's fault. I had the original paint can from when we renovated 2.5 years ago. The painters bought some more based on the formula and they started putting it on the porch and it didn't match the existing trim! Huh??? I could imagine this happening if the paint was 5 years old but it's not even 3 years old. The color is really off and not even something I can live with in the short term because it's so obvious.
Here you go...
So the painting stopped which means the gutters are held up and the last of the woodworking and the screens...
I had forgotten how the details at the end are all so dependent on each other so one hold up, puts everything behind.
Still looking forward to painting our porch.

Oh so annoying! Paint issues like that can be a serious pain, that's for sure. We have a trim color we've used throughout the house. It's antique white, but not just any antique white. It was a more white than antique color from Glidden (back when we used to use "America's Finest" blah). Well, after we realized we were putting 4-5 coats on for coverage rather than 2 we switched to Benjamin Moore, but we wanted the same color. I went to Alexandria Paint & Supply in Bradley Center and worked with the guy behind the counter to match the color, it's still an old school paint store. I think we took something like 30-45 minutes to get it perfect, but I'm glad we did. Now I make sure I go back to the same store with my same sample piece and same formula each time we need a new can. I've been going there for this same paint for about 7.5 years now. I fear the day I need to find someone else to give me this custom color.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck, I hope this all gets resolved quickly.
